Established in September 1999, The Wood Street Montessori is situated at Ewen Hall, United Reformed Church in historic Wood Street in the centre of High Barnet. The founder, Mrs Audrey Errichiello heads an experienced and enthusiastic team of qualified teachers. The nursery has excellent facilities, an attractive grassed garden for outside play and convenient and safe forecourt parking.

Pure Montessori methods are used with attention given to create a calm and pleasant atmosphere for children, parents and teachers. The classroom is well stocked with specialist Montessori equipment for the children to explore and enjoy. The Wood Street Montessori has an interesting and varied curriculum and includes art and craft activities, French lessons, ICT resources, gym, music and drama. There are also outings to nearby places of interest. At the end of each autumn term the children put on a fun, musical Christmas show for their parents. This is one of our highlights of the year and is enjoyed immensely by all.

The nursery operates in term time, following the educational year of three terms, each with a one week, half term break. The dates for the calendar year are issued prior to the start of the autumn term and the dates for this academic year can be found by following the link.

Audrey and her team were very proud to have retained their “Outstanding” status following an Ofsted inspection in June, 2015. It was judged “Outstanding” in the previous inspection in 2011 as indeed it was in 2008! We believe we should strive to continuously improve and provide the best possible care and education for our children.
