We are a Reform Jewish Kindergarten established in 1985 with a history of outstanding practice and care. We provide children with a safe, nurturing and happy environment in which to grow, flourish and challenge themselves, as they find their own unique voice, developing their self-confidence alongside a love of learning and of Reform Jewish values and traditions.
From the moment they begin their learning journey with us from two years old, your child will be encouraged to be an independent thinker and learner and a valued member of our Kindergarten community.
We provide each child with a broad range of learning opportunities and experiences indoors and outdoors, both adult and child initiated, supporting them in acquiring the skills, knowledge and attributes necessary for the next stage in their formal education.
Our values of Equality, Inclusion, Kindness, Resilience, Creativity and Well-being are fundamental to everything we do.
The Kindergarten has a maximum of 60 children, split into small class groups according to their age. We ensure that our staff ratios are more than adequate at all times. Our experienced staff team are fully qualified to work in a Kindergarten setting, or are in the process of gaining the necessary qualifications. Our high staff ratios enable the team to gain an in-depth knowledge of each child and understand their motivations and needs in order to best support them and extend their learning.
Currently, the Kindergarten offers a core three-hour session from 9.15am-12.15pm, Monday to Friday, term-time only. When the children are settled and ready, they are given the opportunity to stay three or four times a week until 2.45pm. These ‘extended day’ sessions enable staff to concentrate on extending the skills the children have already developed and allow the children to eat lunch with their peers. This also helps to prepare them for the school environment. We also run a breakfast club from 8.15am-9.15am. An extra charge is made for these sessions.
